School Tutoring Information

Cancellations require 24 hours notice. Except in the case of an emergency, if you cancel without this notice I will need to charge for the session.

I provide tutoring Monday through Friday by appointment only. I accept appointments starting at noon and start times no later than 6:00 PM so that we can be done by 7:00 PM. Weekends and later hours for working parents may be possible by special arrangement so please check with me. Typical tutoring sessions are an hour long once a week. I can provide longer sessions or more days per week if the situation requires it.

I get many requests to help tutor students to prepare for STAAR  testing. I am familiar with these by grade level and have samples of tests released by the state from prior school years. I can tutor students to achieve competency in each area being tested. Of course, the actual test that your student will be given is not public but if your student is prepared for the competencies being tested they will perform better on the test.

At a learning center your child is placed in a group with other students. They get a limited amount of the tutors time. The tutor may be different each time and most have never been teachers. The centers typically place students into branded learning programs instead of programs tailored to the particular students needs.
